Alright, today, I’m gonna tell you about this “pit boxing” thing I tried out. It wasn’t easy, I gotta say. First, I went and dug a pretty big hole in my backyard. Took a while, and I was sweating like crazy by the end of it. My neighbors probably thought I was burying a body or something, lol.
Then, I lined the pit with some heavy-duty plastic sheeting I picked up from the hardware store. I wanted to make sure it was gonna be really strong, you know? I even double-layered some parts, just to be sure.
Next, I built a wooden frame around the top of the pit. It was like, a border, I guess. I just nailed some planks together and it was good enough, wasn’t trying to win any carpentry awards or anything.

After that, the fun part. I filled the pit with a bunch of different stuff. I used some old tires, sandbags, and even some foam blocks. Just anything that could take a hit, really. It was a total mess, but that’s what I wanted.
- Dug a hole in my backyard.
- Lined it with strong plastic.
- Built a wooden frame around the top.
- Filled it with tires, sandbags, and foam.
Finally, I covered the whole thing with a big tarp and secured it with some heavy rocks. I didn’t want anyone accidentally falling in, especially the kids. Safety first, right?
And there you have it. My very own pit boxing setup. It’s not pretty, but it does the job. I can go in there and just let loose, punch, kick, whatever. It’s a great way to let off some steam, let me tell you.
How Did It Hold Up?
Well, it’s been a few weeks now, and the pit is still standing. I’ve been using it pretty regularly, and it’s holding up pretty well. The plastic is a bit ripped in some places, and the wooden frame is a little wobbly, but overall, it’s still good to go. I might reinforce some parts later, but for now, I’m happy with it. It works and works well.
So, if you’re looking for a cheap and easy way to get some exercise and blow off some steam, I’d say give pit boxing a try. It’s not for everyone, but it’s definitely something different. And hey, if it works for me, it might work for you too.
