Okay, so I’ve been meaning to break down Patrick Cantlay’s bag for a while now. This guy’s setup is seriously interesting, and I finally got around to digging into it. Let’s get into what clubs he’s been using and how he puts them to work.
First off, I started looking at his driver. Cantlay’s been rocking the Titleist TS3 for a while. I remember seeing him crush it off the tee with this thing, so I watched a bunch of his tournament rounds. Yep, still looks like a beast for him, the distance is crazy good.
- Driver: Titleist TS3. This thing is built for speed and distance, and he can shape his shots.
Then, I moved on to his fairway woods. He’s got a Titleist 915F 3-wood and a Titleist TS2 5-wood. I grabbed some videos of him hitting those, too. The 915F is clearly his go-to for those longer approach shots. The TS2 seems to be his safety net when he needs to get out of trouble. It took me a while to see that pattern, but he used the 915F more often.

- Fairway Woods: Titleist 915F (3-wood), Titleist TS2 (5-wood). A solid combo for different situations.
For his irons, Cantlay’s been using a set of Titleist 718 AP2s, from 4-iron down to 9-iron. I spent an afternoon just watching him hit iron shots. The consistency is just insane. He strikes the ball so pure, it’s like he’s painting the green with every shot. I tested a friend’s 718 AP2s to see how they feel, and they are really great, but of course, I couldn’t make them work like Cantlay does.
- Irons: Titleist 718 AP2 (4-9 iron). Classic blades, designed for skilled players.
Next up, his wedges. This is where it gets a bit more custom. He’s got four Titleist Vokey SM7 wedges, each with different lofts and bounces. It took me a while to figure out his setup, but it looks like he’s got a 46, 52, 56, and a 61-degree. I watched some close-up footage of his short game, and it’s clear he uses these things like a surgeon. Around the green, he is very precise.
- Wedges: Titleist Vokey SM7 (46, 52, 56, 61 degrees). A full arsenal for any short-game situation.
Finally, I checked out his putter. He uses an old-school Scotty Cameron Newport 2 GSS. It’s a blade putter, nothing fancy, but he’s deadly with it. I tried to find one of these to test, but they’re super rare. From what I’ve seen, he’s got incredible feel on the greens. He seems to sink everything from within 10 feet.
- Putter: Scotty Cameron Newport 2 GSS. A classic blade putter that suits his stroke.
Putting it all together, Cantlay’s bag is a mix of older, trusted clubs and some newer ones. He’s clearly not one to switch gear just for the sake of it. He sticks with what works, and it obviously pays off. It took me a good amount of time to analyze his entire setup, but it was worth it. It’s a great example of how a top player fine-tunes their equipment to maximize their performance. Also, I got to watch a lot of golf videos, which is always a plus.
