Hey, guys! Let’s talk about the Mavs. I’m a big fan, you know, and I’ve been following them for a long time. So, Mark Cuban, the owner, he’s made some pretty bad trades over the years. I decided to really look into this, like, really get into the weeds. It was a little project of mine.
First, I started by making a list of all the trades the Mavs have made since Cuban bought the team. It was a long list. You wouldn’t believe how many trades this team has gone through! I spent hours on this, going through websites and old news articles. It felt like I was back in school, doing research for a term paper.
Then, I started digging into each trade individually. Who did they trade away? Who did they get in return? I made notes on each player’s stats, their performance, everything. I felt like a detective, trying to figure out if each trade was good or bad. Some trades, it was obvious they were bad. Like, really bad. You know, the kind of trades that make you want to pull your hair out.

The Worst of the Worst
So here are some of the worst trades I found, in my opinion.
- Trading away a young Steve Nash: This one still hurts. Nash went on to become a two-time MVP. We really messed up on that one. I remember watching Nash play for Phoenix and thinking, “He could have been ours.” It was painful.
- The Rajon Rondo trade: Rondo just didn’t fit with the team. It was a disaster from the start. I remember watching those games and just shaking my head. It was like watching a car crash in slow motion.
- Trading multiple picks for a player who didn’t pan out: You know that this trade is so sad! I won’t say the names here. They gave up so much for him, and he just didn’t deliver. It was like throwing money down the drain. It made me so mad!
After I did all this research, I put together a big post about it, with all the details and my opinions. It took forever to write, but I felt like I had to share it with other Mavs fans. I wanted to see if they agreed with me, or if I was just being too harsh.
It was a lot of work, but it was also kind of fun. It was like reliving all those years of Mavs history, the good and the bad. And it made me appreciate the good trades even more. It’s not easy being a Mavs fan sometimes, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. At least we have Dirk. He’s the best. I remember watching him play, and it was like watching a magician. He made everything look so easy.
Anyway, that’s my little story about diving into the Mavs’ trade history. Hope you guys found it interesting! Go Mavs!
