Okay, so I wanted to try out those “Garrett Clark clubs” I kept hearing about. You know, the ones that YouTuber Garrett Clark used at that Creator Classic thing? Yeah, those. I’m no pro, but I figured, why not give them a shot? Plus, I was curious if they were really all that different from my old clubs.
Getting My Hands on the Goods
First things first, I needed to get my hands on these clubs. Turns out, the driver is some fancy Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond thingy. It’s set at 10.5 degrees, but apparently, this one was cranked up to 11.5. Whatever that means. And the shaft? Something called “Good.” I guess that’s a brand or something. I just nodded along when the guy at the store told me all this.
Hitting the Range
With the clubs in my bag, I headed straight to the driving range. I started with the driver, obviously. Took a few swings, and honestly? It felt pretty good. Not like, magically-transform-my-game good, but definitely a solid club. I was hitting the ball a bit further than usual, which was a nice surprise. I even managed to keep most of my shots relatively straight. A few went wonky, but hey, that’s on me, not the club.
Trying Out the Rest
After messing around with the driver, I moved on to the other clubs. They’re mostly Callaway, from what I could tell. Honestly, they all felt pretty similar. Good, but not mind-blowing. I’m not sure what I was expecting, really. Maybe for the clubs to swing themselves? I did notice that I was getting a bit more distance with the irons, which was cool.
Did They Improve My Game?
So, the big question: did these Garrett Clark clubs turn me into a golfing god? Nope. Not even close. But they were fun to try out, and I did see some improvement in my distance. Would I recommend them? Sure, if you’ve got the cash and you’re looking for some new clubs. They are mostly Callaway, so you know they’re gonna be decent. Are they worth the hype? I don’t know, probably not. But they are not bad, I’ll give them that.
All in all, it was a fun little experiment. I got to try out some fancy clubs, hit a few (mostly) good shots, and pretend I was a YouTube golf star for a day. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon, I’d say.
- Took a while to find the right clubs
- Felt good on the driving range
- Saw some improvement, mostly in distance
- Wouldn’t say they’re life-changing, but they’re solid clubs
- Fun experiment overall
