Yesterday, I was thinking about how many hours I actually spend awake each day. I mean, we all get 24 hours, but how much of that are we really using, you know?
So, I grabbed a piece of paper and started jotting things down. First, the obvious: sleep. I usually get around 7 hours of sleep, not bad I think.
Then i calculated the total minutes of my day, 24 hours multiply 60 minutes is 1440 minutes. That’s the number I get.

But the thing is 1440 minutes is not correct, because i sleep 7 hours and 20 minutes sometimes, so i decided to make the number bigger than before. I tried 1420.
- 24 hours 60 minutes = 1440 minutes
- I sleep 7 hours and 20 minutes.
- try to make it 1420, looks fine.
Then i divided 1420 minutes by 60.
Surprise!
It’s not a whole number! 1420 / 60 = 23.6666666667, not 24. Of course! Because i decreased the number of minutes in total.
That’s all about my sharing, thanks for your reading.
