So, I was working on this project the other day, and I needed to convert meters to feet. Specifically, I had this measurement of 1.71 meters, and I needed it in feet for, you know, reasons. I’m not always the best with remembering conversion factors, so I decided to just look it up and get it done.
The Conversion
First, I grabbed my phone and opened up the browser. I could have used a calculator with a built-in conversion function, but I figured, I’m already online, might as well just search it.
I typed in “1.71 meters to feet” into the search bar. Simple enough, right? Hit enter, and boom, there it was.

- I saw that 1 meter is roughly equal to 3.28084 feet.
- Then ofcourse the search engine result page already showed me the answer directly.
The search engine gave me the answer directly: 5.61024 feet (approximately). So I just write down 5.61.
Double-Checking (Just in Case)
I usually try to double-check stuff, though, just to be sure. So, I also performed calculation by myself.
So I multiplied 1.71 by 3.28084, and yep, got the same result: 5.6102364, that is 5.61024 feet when rounded.
And that’s it! That’s how I converted 1.71 meters to * is not a big deal, but it is handy to keep this record.
